The AX4HOME showcase on “automated back office management of content for mobile and broadband distribution” is finally online! Try yourself to upload content (if you are a content provider), or to play the music tracks available on the example music shop. Detailed instructions are given in the Showcase page.
Yesterday, Monday 17 March, the AXMEDIS project released version 1.4 of the AXMEDIS Tools. As usual, all tools can be freely downloaded from the AXMEDIS portal.
The latest versions of the AXMEDIS database and AXMEDIS web services available on the subversion repository of the project have been installed and are running on this server. This version has been tested with the Editor that is contained in version 1.2 of the Content Production Tools installer. Instructions on how to configure the Editor are given in the how-to page.
A new version of the AXMEDIS tools has been released and is available for download from the download page of the AXMEDIS portal. The new version corrects various problems and enhance the functionality of the Tools.
The OMA 2.0 Gateway has been installed on AX4HOME and is now running side by side with the AXMEDIS Web services. The Gateway converts AXMEDIS objects into OMA DRM 2.0 protected content which can be distributed to mobile devices. A step by step guide to verify the OMA Gateway functionality is provided in the Axmedis-OMA 2.0 Gateway page.
The AX4HOME take up entered the AXMEDIS project in M28 (the 28th month since the beginning of the AXMEDIS project), which corresponds to December 2006. Counting months in this way is quite confusing for me, so I wrote this simple converter:
After configuring an impressive number of tools and webservices, the AX4HOME Content Factory is finally running! All AX4HOME partners can use it to store, retrieve and query content in AXMEDIS format. Follow the instruction given in the how-to page to configure your AXMEDIS Tools (in particular the Editor), and you will be able to start using the Content Factory.
